Blast to the Past

Since we are on a Disney discussion kick, I wanted to share with you how my oldest son used Disney as a springboard to his band, Underground Orchestra's success in LA. He had to audition so many times with hundreds of applicants for one of 30 full time spots. The parade was at Epcot and its World Showcase. It was probably one of the best parades I have seen down there. It was less fantasy, more contemporary, and so interesting to watch plus the music is haunting and spectacular.
The music is still heard after the evening fireworks as people are finding their way back to Future World and the exit. I still get misty eyed when I hear it for seeing him in this parade after all of our memories and trips there was one of the biggest thrills I have ever had.

The beginning of the parade signaled by the Timekeeper

The huge drum machine. Each section of circles is made up of drums. As the unit rolls, the sections turn and the drummer transfers from one to another while the music continues to play.

The fact that our family was at Epcot on opening day only makes this particular park very near and dear to my heart. We have also left a "Legacy" by having our picture etched into their marble towers at the entrance of the park. We are in good company as many stars also have their etchings there.
